Serving Sherman Oaks and Valley Neighborhoods

our service areas

We serve properties throughout Sherman Oaks and the surrounding Valley. Each neighborhood brings different plumbing challenges based on when homes were built and how they were constructed.

Encino homes often have original plumbing systems that need updating or replacement. Van Nuys properties mix residential and commercial buildings with different plumbing demands. Studio City’s hillside homes face unique drainage needs because of sloped lots. Valley Glen has aging infrastructure in established areas that require experienced plumbers. Valley Village contains post-war homes with mid-century plumbing that shows its age. North Hollywood properties vary widely in type and age, each with specific needs. Toluca Lake’s mature trees cause root intrusion problems in sewer lines.

Many Sherman Oaks homes were built between the 1950s and 1970s. These properties have aging pipes that fail more often than newer construction. Clay and cast iron sewer lines remain common in older neighborhoods. These materials crack and allow tree roots to grow inside. Slab foundations in Valley homes hide leaks underneath the concrete. You might not know about a slab leak until you see water pooling or hear running water when everything is off.

Mature oak and sycamore trees grow throughout Sherman Oaks. Their roots search for water and break into sewer lines. Hillside properties deal with gravity drainage challenges that flat lots don’t face. Multi-unit buildings along Ventura Boulevard share plumbing systems between tenants. HOA-managed properties require proper documentation and approvals for major repairs.

Tree root invasions happen year-round but worsen during spring growth. Pipe failures increase during Valley heat waves when temperatures stress old materials. Winter freeze events happen rarely but cause serious damage when they occur. Heavy rain overwhelms older drainage systems that weren’t designed for current water volumes. Slab leaks appear frequently in mid-century homes built on concrete foundations.

Hired Sewer Heroes for some emergency plumbing work we needed. We had big leak coming into your unit from what we found out now was a broken sewer pipe.

The upstairs residents pipes were flooding our floor and filling with water. These guys came out immediately and took care of what looked like a disaster in the matter of a day.

Amazing plumbing crew thank you!

I called Sewer Heroes for an emergency plumbing issue at our home in Studio City after our sewer started backing up from the cleanout. We found out that although a lot of the sewer lines under the house had been updated over the years, the main sewer line was still an old clay pipe with roots growing into it.
The Sewer Heroes team came out quickly, cleared the line with hydro jetting, and even did a sewer camera inspection afterward to show us what was going on inside the pipe. Honestly, I wish we had checked the sewer system before buying the property because after doing some research, it seems like a lot of older homes still have clay sewer pipes with root intrusion problems.
We’re currently in the process of permanently addressing the issue with trenchless sewer repair methods, and they did a great job explaining how the process works along with all the benefits compared to traditional excavation.
Thankfully we found Sewer Heroes. They were professional, super clean, friendly, and explained everything clearly from start to finish. Easily one of the best plumbing and drain cleaning companies in the Studio City area. Highly recommend them if you need sewer repair, hydro jetting, or a sewer camera inspection.

For the last few months we experienced repeated sewer backs up at my rental property. Thankfully we were able to work with Erik at sewer heroes. He was available for a late night call and took away all the stress from having tenants not be able to use water over a long period of time. I called so many “Emergency Plumbing” and “24 hour plumbing” companies that literally told us they can come the next day. Sewer heroes really are the all around best plumbing company that we have dealt with in our area. Of course we saw the sewer camera inspection to see underlining issues after the hydro jetting which they saw that the sewer had horrible slope causing these constant backups.

Erik came up with a plan and once agreed got to work. He was able to dig up the whole 50ft section of sewer and make the repair to prevent this from happening again. Amazing plumbing company who took a whole lot of stress away. They dealt with all issues and hiccups themselves which is especially amazing since we have tenants who were not happy but knew it had to be done.

Sewer Heroes will be my go to plumber for all my plumbing needs. Couldn’t thank them enough and will heavily recommend them to anyone reading this!

Came out same day and blasted a nasty clog in my sewer main, as well as showed me some stuff on the camera that may give me problems later, but did not pressure for any additional service. Really nice, great service, and super informative with everything they were doing along the way. Will definitely be my go-to!

I never had a plumbing emergency happen like this and I’m so happy I worked with Erik at Sewer Heroes. They really are a 24/7 plumbing company. Our sewer had an issue where I guess roots grew in and started causing a back up into the house. We had to clean the line with hydro jetting and did a sewer camera inspection after to see what it looked like. The guys did a fantastic job and ended up up replacing a good portion of the mainline with trench-less sewer repair options which I had no idea was even a thing! All in all a great experience and they did everything at a very fair price. The best plumbing company in Sherman oaks area hands down. In and out like nothing ever happened. Thank you!

Common Plumbing Questions from Sherman Oaks Residents

We frequently get the same questions from home owners. These answers help you understand what to expect and how to respond when plumbing problems happen.

Have Questions? Give Us a Call

How do I choose a plumber in Sherman Oaks?

Response

Look for plumbers with experience working on Valley properties and local infrastructure. Emergency availability matters when problems happen outside business hours. Ask about their experience with drainage issues and water damage restoration. Plumbers familiar with Sherman Oaks understand aging pipes, tree root problems, and slab foundation issues common in the area.

What do I do if my drains back up?

Response

Stop using all drains immediately if multiple fixtures are backing up at once. Chemical drain cleaners make problems worse and damage pipes over time. Call for professional drain cleaning or hydro jetting to clear the blockage properly. Camera inspection may be needed to find the exact cause of recurring backups.

What do I do if I have water damage?

Response

Shut off water at the main valve immediately if you can locate it safely. Call an emergency plumber right away before damage spreads further. Remove valuables from affected areas while waiting for help to arrive. Document all damage with photos for your insurance company. Mold can start growing within 24 to 48 hours, so don’t delay getting professional help.

Can you come to my neighborhood?

Response

Yes, we cover all of Sherman Oaks and surrounding Valley neighborhoods completely. Encino, Van Nuys, Studio City, Valley Glen, Valley Village, North Hollywood, and Toluca Lake all receive full service. Emergency response runs 24/7 throughout our entire coverage area. We know all local property types because we work in these neighborhoods daily.

How fast should I act on this issue?

Response

Water leaks and active damage require immediate action right now. Sewage backups create health hazards that need emergency response immediately. No hot water calls for same-day service to restore your household routine. Slow drains need scheduling soon to prevent complete blockages later. Preventative maintenance can wait for your convenience and regular scheduling.

Do I need to replace my whole sewer line?

Response

Camera inspection shows the exact extent of damage in your sewer line. Trenchless repair fixes localized problems without replacing the entire line. Full replacement only becomes necessary when damage extends throughout most of the pipe. Hydro jetting sometimes restores old pipes to working condition without any replacement needed.
